I'm a recent Ole Miss grad living in North Georgia. I recruit college students full-time for a business internship I've done the past five summers.
I grew up in Natchez, Mississippi, which is an incredibly old town right on the river. By now I have figured out I enjoy:
Playing guitar
Traveling places I haven't been
Selling a ton of books
When I was a freshman in college, I got connected with some students already doing southwestern and decided to try my hand. Each summer has been difficult, emotional, and incredibly rewarding. Through Southwestern, I have started my first career position, paid off college, and grown from a boy into a man.
Southwestern Advantage is a 160-year-old program that teaches the fundamentals of business success. It's hard. But if you have big goals in life, you owe it to yourself to do hard things.
Let me start by saying I love my family, and I wouldn't trade how I was raised for anything in the world. It made me who I am today. My family's relationship with the Lord has paved the foundation for my life.
My hometown, Natchez, Mississippi is perhaps the most authentic southern town in the entire USA. Being originally a French post on the Mississippi river, it has been around long before even the revolutionary war. It is home to sprawling cathedrals and crawfish boils.
Natchez is as charming as it is poor. When my dad, Brad Passman, was a kid, he was described by National Geographic in an article on Natchez as "modern-day Huckleberry Finn." They were right on the money; Anyone that knew Brad Passman knew he loved having fun with his whole soul, and he was the master of sharing it with others. My father passed away when I was 12 years old. I credit him for my positive outlook on life and love toward others. I live my life to honor my father, as well as my two deceased friends, Sterling Yarbrough and William Whitehead.
Southwestern Advantage has been the most impactful part of my life outside of my walk with the Lord. My occupation operates as a vehicle to serve his Kingdom more fully.
